SA Bike Share was the first bike share system in the state of Texas and contrary to popular belief we are not owned by the City of San Antonio. Instead, we are a locally run, nonprofit.
During the pandemic, SA Bike Share has remained operational thanks to a 75% increase in local ridership, but we have been functioning at reduced capacity. Our staff has chosen to work fewer hours to avoid being furloughed and we’ve closed several stations to ensure limited staff is able to maintain the docking stations and bikes. When fully operational we have 60+ docking stations, 450 bicycles, and 10 employees. That’s a lot of stations and bicycles to maintain for just a handful of employees. |
When you participate in the
Pedal in the Park Virtual Challenge, you are providing the revenue needed for the employees of SA Bike Share to maintain our stations and bicycles. #SABikeShare, connecting San Antonio one pedal stroke at a time. |
Your journey will begin less than half a mile from Mission Concepcion at Confluence Park. Here you will have easy access to the Mission Reach and a B Cycle Docking Station. On the Mission Reach you will discover four Art Portals funded by the San Antonio River Foundation. These art portals are designed to guide you up from the river and connect your journey to a San Antonio Mission. |
